It is with heavy hearts the family of Doreen Julia McIntosh (nee Reynolds) announces her passing on January 11, 2018 in Trochu at the age of 88 years. She was born on March 3, 1929 in Drumheller, Alberta, the oldest of five children born to John and Ruth Reynolds. At the age of two, her family moved to Eaglesham, Alberta where they farmed their homestead. On July 31, 1965 she married Hugh McIntosh. Their lives together started in Grand Prairie and then moving to Calgary. Doreen’s many hobbies included her flower/rock gardens, sewing, and crocheting. Her counters were always full with the best tasting homemade foods. They moved to Kelowna and Nanaimo where Doreen participated with Hugh as a guide for blind sports. They spent the last 18 years in Olds where they moved to be closer to family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Hugh; Doreen’s children Ronald (Fern), Dale (Carole), Lynn (Frank), Marilyn; Hugh’s children Cam (Maureen), Warren (Laura) and Brad (Cindy); grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sons Ronald, Dale and daughter Lorna May. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 19, 2018 at Heartland Funeral Services Chapel, Olds.
