WALLACE “WALLY” IRVINE GUNDERSON

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wally on Tuesday Aug. 28, 2018 at the age of 76 years. Wally was born in Calgary and raised in Water Valley, living most of his life in Central Alberta. Wally worked at the Calgary Stockyards, Olds Auction Mart and according to his dad "was the best cattleman around". Wally loved the rodeo - he worked at the Calgary Stampede Ranch but the highlight of his working career was 39 years for the Calgary Stampede as a flank man. Wally will be missed by his four children; Josh (Sheilagh), Jeremy (Nicole), Becky (Mike) and Jodi; his grandchildren Grace, Abbey, Charlie, Eva Marie, Shawn, Raylan, Harper, Lana, and Mickinley; his siblings Peter, David, Andrea, Bill, Rosemary, Don, Carrol, and Roy and his very special friend Judy. Wally was predeceased by his parents Oris and Mary Gunderson, brothers Gene and Maurice; and sisters Eddy and Sandy. There will be a Celebration of Life for Wally on Thursday Sept. 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Water Valley Community Hall in Water Valley, AB. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Water Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Olds and District Hospice Society. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Olds entrusted with arrangements.
