Obituary for Garth Murray Dixon

Garth Murray Dixon passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, January 26th, 2018 following complications after surgery. Garth was born in Calgary January 10, 1955 and attended school in the Renfrew area. He went on to further his education to become an accountant. Years later he and Linda met and were married shortly thereafter. They moved to Grand Forks, British Columbia to start a new chapter. There they met a lot of amazing new friends. They did a lot of travelling to tropical resorts and to NFL games. He was a huge Seattle Seahawks fan and one winter had season tickets to their home games which meant living in Seattle in the holiday trailer. Garth spent 2 months in Calgary being treated for his health and he seemed to be improving so they headed home to Torrington for the weekend. It was here that he passed away very unexpectedly. Garth is survived by his wife Linda of 18 years; step-daughter Sheila Brandley; special Aunty Mary Walls; cousins Debbie and Tim and their children. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Katherine Dixon in 2001. He also leaves to mourn many close friends both in Alberta and BC, where they lived for 15 years. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday February 10, 2018 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Executive Royal Hotel, SILVER ROOM, 2828-23 Ave. N.E., Calgary. A Grand Forks, BC Memorial will be held in mid March 2018.
