Stewart Frederick Bosomworth of Carstairs, Alberta passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 , at the age of 83 years. Stewart was born Thursday, July 28, 1927 at the Vetter farm just two miles north of the Bosomworth farm west of Carstairs. Stewart was the first of 8 children for Stewart and Anna (nee Vetter) Bosomworth. Stewart attended school at the Sunny Slope community school and the Carstairs High School. After a number of years working in Calgary and Edmonton, Stewart returned to the family farm full time with his wife Barbara. Stewart and Barbara had 4 sons, three of which are farming in the Carstairs area and one is living in Vancouver. Beyond the daily farm work, Stewart was active in the farming community as a Director of the Mountain View Seed Cleaning Plant for 35 years. He also traveled across the prairies as a pedigree seed crop inspector for the Canadian Seed Growers Association for many years. If you didn’t see him out in the field looking for weeds, then you could catch up with him at an auction sale having coffee with friends and neighbors.

Stewart is survived by his four sons; Mike Bosomworth & his wife Krysta of Carstairs, Will Bosomworth & his wife Trudi of Carstairs, Peter Bosomworth & his wife Melanie of Carstairs
and Gary Bosomworth of Vancouver
Also left to cherish Stewart’s memory are his 7 Grandchildren; Kyla, Matthew, Shane, Aric, Tyson, Blair and Bryn. Stewart is further survived by his siblings Betty Larsen of Russell, Manitoba, Mary-Anne Sabin of Cochrane, Alberta, Donald Bosomworth of Calgary, Gordie Bosomworth of Cochrane, Alberta and Roy Bosomworth of Calgary.
Stewart was predeceased by his wife Barbara Bosomworth, his brother Frank Bosomworth and his sister Kathleen Bosomworth.

Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, located west of Carstairs on highway 580 and Range Road 3.0 on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2:00pm, with Pastor Lance Duncalfe officiating.
